So yesterday we started our trek home and made it as far as Glenwood Springs, CO. We had a great dinner last night at a Mexican restaurant so you can find good Mexican food in CO. This morning was an early wake up call as we had to get to the river rafting location by 8:15. We had a great time on the Colorado River as we traveled through the Glenwood Springs canyon. Beautiful surroundings and some pretty good rapids.  After we grabbed some lunch it was a short 5 hour drive to Beaver, UT and our last night in a hotel. We are planning on leaving early so we can get through Vegas and hopefully back to church by 2 pm. We will see how that goes.  We are all looking forward to being home and while we will miss our time together as a group we have some great memories of our time in Colorado both having fun and serving.

Today we departed our servant event home and began the trek home. As we reflected on our time in Denver, the group was extremely thankful for the opportunity to serve with some great agencies. Pastor John at Denver Metro, David Clifton Ministries and the food bank are all doing great things to help the people in Denver. We are also thankful for the Youthworks staff who gave so much of their time to make the experience so amazing. So Amanda, Onyi, Isaac and Kyle - thank you!! We are in Glenwood Springs tonight and looking forward to rafting tomorrow morning and then driving into Utah. We ask for prayers as we travel tomorrow.

Today was our last day of service. Team Darlene had there final day at Denver Metro Ministries. They served many families through the mobile food bank.  Team Jim was back at the food bank and we were busy in the morning fulfilling orders from local food pantries.  The afternoon was spent working the back dock and getting those orders out the doors and to the pantries and different organizations.  The kids have done great work over these four days. We have had no issues and Darlene and I have totally enjoyed our time with them. We head to the mountains tomorrow and I think we are getting ready to come home.

Today was a tale of opposites. Team Jim was at the Food Bank of the Rockies.  They got to separate donated food items and also load pallets with orders from food pantries in a nice air conditioned building. Team Darlene was back on the streets with the mobile food truck and the sidewalk Sunday school. Both teams worked hard but working outside definitely taxed the Justice League.  Last night we had a very emotional night as we discussed how we try and discover God's will for our lives and what happenes when what we want to do isn't necessarily what God's will for us might be. It was a great conversation and like I stated, an emotional one for some of us.  We are all still healthy and tired but again the kids are working their tales off. It has been a great experience and really has pushed us all. Team Jim didn't get any pictures but here are some from Team Darlene. Kayla and Kenzie are the ones in the Brewster costume.

Today was a definite work day. Team Jim was back at David Clifton Ministries and was busy attempting to clean out several rooms in the basement of items that had been donated and just thrown in there. Mounds and mounds of clothes along with all kids of household items. We would organize it and then place the items in a truck that is a staging area for a garage sale they will have this weekend.  Lots and lots of trips up stairs. The highlight is that every Youthworks team that comes through there gets to plant a tree so we got to do that.  Team Darlene was back at Denver Metro and delivering food out of a mobile food truck like yesterday but today they added a Sidewalk Sunday School that involved puppets and lots of fun. There was also some sort of rav-e-ola eating contest because Darlene had to participate in that. See pics below.  All of us are healthy and a good tired. Kids falling asleep is not a problem. They are working very hard and parents you would be proud of them. (I am). Ble

We got to do some work today. Team Darlene aka Justice League spent the day in the Denver Metro area working for a Mobile food bank. Girls did fantastic and worked up quite a sweat. They will be working there all week and tomorrow will be also leading a sidewalk Sunday school.  Team Jim aka Guardians of the Galaxy spent the morning working at a food and clothing bank for the homeless. The afternoon we went to a retirement home and did a program there with Bessie's Hope. It was a great experience and pushed us way out of our comfort zone.  Tonight we are at Lookout Mountain overlooking all of the Denver metro area. It was a great day!!

Not going to write much cuz it's bed time at our servant site and have to be up early. Worshipped with Mike and Jeanne Zsolczai at Immanuel Lutheran church in Loveland. Outdoor setting and most of us wore shorts since it was rather warm. Went to Casa Bonita for lunch which was a childhood favorite of mine. We had an hour to kill before we reported to our servant site so we walked around a huge Target in Lakewood, CO. Reported to Philipps United Methodist Church and got all checked in. Ate dinner, had our opening worship time and our church time and now it's bedtime. We are all feeling great and ready to serve tomorrow. Will post some great pics tomorrow but here are a few from today.
